In short
Zermatt is a car-free village in the Valais below the Matterhorn, 4,478 m. Its ski area reaches the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and links over the border to Cervinia.
Skiers who want altitude and long runs, and mountaineers drawn by the Matterhorn and the high peaks around it.
Winter for skiing on both sides of the border; summer for glacier skiing, hiking and mountaineering.
By train to Visp, then the mountain railway to Zermatt. Drivers leave the car in Täsch and take the shuttle train for the last few minutes.
Where to stay
We arrange hotels and chalets in Zermatt on request. Tell us what you need and we suggest the right one for your group.
